Fire started due to a lightning strike. The inside of the home was nearly completely demoed down to the stud walls. We worked closely with the adjuster to agree on the scope of repairs while salvageable contents were identified, packed out, cleaned and stored. The homeowner was displaced during the entire process. We replaced the entire roof material and sheathing, including framing from ceiling joists to rafters. All new windows, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical were installed along with siding on two sides of the house. At their request and cost, the homeowner wanted a small amount of redesign during the reconstruction to include tearing out a load bearing wall separating the living room from the kitchen. A new beam was engineered just for this. The change essentially created a great room and, after completion, offered a fantastically different look and feel to the home upon entry.
