This loss occurred on an active construction site.  A quick response was critical to this client in order to complete the project within their specified timeframe.

Water had infiltrated approximately 11,000 square feet affecting nearly ¾ of the structures’ first floor.  The water originated from a ground source so was treated as a category 3 loss therefore a great deal of the finishes that came into contact with the water had to be removed.  This included performing flood cuts in the drywall to remove it where the water wicked into the walls; some insulation was also removed.

After demolition, dehumidifiers and air movers were strategically placed to thoroughly dry each of approximately 20 separate rooms.  Our crews worked into the night to ensure the environment was stable and the equipment could perform to its maximum potential.

The initial Relative Humidity (RH) in the structure was over 60%.  Within 24 hours of arriving onsite, Zipco was able to reduce the RH to an average of 29% throughout the entire structure.  At that point nearly half of the equipment was removed and the rest was left to further bring down the moisture content of areas where finishes were salvaged.  By day 2, only 48 hours from starting mitigation services, all the structure and finishes were dry and the RH was now in the low 20% range.

After completely drying the structure, the floors were all re-cleaned to provide a good working environment for the construction company to continue their activities and complete the project.  This project took 3 days to complete.
